- Minimum/General Experience: Demonstrated familiarity with the Windows 98 and Windows NT operating systems. Demonstrated experience in using common Internet applications, such as mail clients and browsers. Demonstrated experience in using MS Office and other popular windows software. Knowledge of common engineering symbols, such as database symbols, network device symbols, and their representation in engineering schematic and wiring diagrams. Demonstrated good written and oral communications skills. Must demonstrate the ability to work under moderate supervision and as part of a development team.
- Functional Responsibility: Assist in the installation and maintain office computing hardware and software on stand-alone and/or network client and server platforms. Assist in the installation and maintain computer network components, such as routers, hubs, transmission cabling, or other devices. Assist engineering staff in performing analysis activities and studies involving investigative research, modeling and/or specialized system configurations, or network configurations. Assist engineering staff in developing small software applications, software scripts, and/or other application-dependent macros and/or scripts. Develop HTML documents, CGI scripts, JAVA scripts, or other web-based utilities. Assist in the daily maintenance of web software or other server agents/daemons under the direction of a qualified engineer. Prepare inputs for technical documentation and proposals.
